Squealing Pig Retain Summer League Crown

They said it couldn't be done.  But The Squealing Pig 2 team brought the Magills Summer League Shield back to its spiritual home, the Pig's trophy cabinet, with an amazing 4 - 3 win over Arch Rivals An Poc Fada. 

Its not clear whether any cameras survived the 36 hour bender that the winning team went on following their triumph.  The Shield certainly didn't emerge unscathed.  But if any photos do remain from this glorious victory, then rest assured they will be posted on the Pig Notice Board in the coming days.

Pig Backs Tidy Towns

 The Pig has back efforts by Monaghan Tidy Towns to improve the appearance of the town and have recently paid for a new flower pyramid which is located in the Diamond.  The Pyramid was one of the features noted by judges in awarding record marks to the town, which gained the sixth highest points increase in the Country.
